About me
My journey from NHS doctor to campaigner began when I was working in a hospital. I witnessed patients being harmed from a combination of poor conditions and inadequate care. I began writing and campaigning on changes needed to our healthcare system and changes needed in society to allow everyone to live healthy lives.
After qualifying as a doctor, I began volunteering in a mobile clinic used predominantly by migrants and homeless people. As the daughter of a refugee, it was upsetting to see people becoming sick and dying due to the policies of a hostile environment that prevented them from getting care. This led me to campaign - with fellow doctors and my trade union - against the hostile environment in the NHS.
